The purpose of our trip to the Outer Hebrides was to visit Ann's sister, Bobby, and her daughter Sally as well as visiting Ann's mother in North Uist. Bobby and Sally's house is in West Gerinish, South Uist whilst Ann's mother is at Carinish on North Uist. We therefore decided to stay at a hotel in Lionacleit on Benbecula which is about halfway between them and within easy reach of the airport in the main 'town' Balivanich.
