All the following beacon pictures were received at my home QTH and all but GB3VV on 23cms.
This picture probably suffered the most from my rolling frame band problem.
however, at least the callsign is clear, proving it is the Leicester repeater. |

On the evening of 14th February 2001conditions on 23cms were particularly good . When I swung the beam round there were so many repeater signals that it was difficult to separate them well enough to identify them! As always seems to happen at these times, the VCR and cameras were not set up ready, so I haven't got a good record of what I saw. Anyway, here are some off-screen pictures taken with a digital camera. Receiving these repeaters was the first and only time for me. Since taking these pictures I have learnt how to set the camera properly for off-screen pictures!
A clear ID was received both on CW and voice at regular intervals.

At my location, on the 'edge of the sea', the strongest and most frequently received repeater during ducting propagation is
GB3VR located at Brighton (near racecourse).
Unlike every other licenced repeater in the UK, this repeater can no longer be used by just any amateur. If you try to access it the response is the 'K' picture below!
